Les Yeux Dans Les Yeux remplace Le Fil, la première œuvre de Seth réalisée en 2016 au même endroit. Si la première œuvre avait marqué la ville de Fontaine par sa justesse et sa douceur, sa disparition lors de l’isolation extérieure des deux bâtiments a révélé un manque criant. Même si le remplacement était prévu dès la création initiale, le laps de temps pendant lequel ces deux enfants géants, véritables anges gardiens de la place, n’étaient plus présents a semblé long aux habitants du quartier. Seth a tenu son engagement : il est revenu réenchanter Fontaine et nous propose de nous approprier ces deux nouveaux arrivants qui, en se regardant, nous invitent à nous évader avec eux, avec toute l’innocence et l’ouverture d’esprit de ceux qui découvrent encore le monde.

If the original piece had marked the town of Fontaine with its accuracy and gentleness, its disappearance during the external insulation of the two buildings left a glaring void. Even though the replacement had been planned from the very beginning, the period during which these two giant children — true guardian angels of the square — were no longer there felt very long to the residents of the neighbourhood.
Seth kept his promise: he returned to re-enchant Fontaine and invites us to make these two new arrivals our own. By looking at each other, they invite us to escape with them, with all the innocence and open-mindedness of those who are still discovering the world.
