L’Espoir est la plus grande œuvre à ce jour de l’artiste suisse. Elle prend place sur le fronton d’une école primaire. Réalisé à coups de marteau sur du verre, le portrait de cet enfant au regard tourné vers le ciel exprime toute la fragilité et la force des espoirs de l’enfance. Il nous revient, à nous adultes, de préserver cette innocence et de la laisser fleurir à son rythme, sans contrainte.

Inventor of works created by hammering on glass, Simon Berger is above all an artist who brings strength out of fragility. Each impact he inflicts on the material makes it more alive. His works are full of surprises: one never understands their creation at first glance, and it is only by getting closer that one discovers their full power and inventiveness.
L’Espoir (Hope) is the largest work to date by the Swiss artist. It adorns the pediment of a primary school. Created by hammering on glass, the portrait of this child gazing towards the sky expresses all the fragility and strength of childhood hopes. It is up to us adults to preserve this innocence and let it bloom at its own pace, without constraint.
